Varden E. Hadfield Summary

Download Resume.pdf

With more than 18 years in major gifts fundraising, I have facilitated more than $60 million in gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations, using assets and techniques of all types, including planned gifts.

I have a Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University Center on Philanthropy. I have been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) for 15 years, and have completed advanced continuing education in financial analysis and estate planning.

This success has come because I’m courageous, yet humble and honest, and listen carefully to understand people's unique interests and personality.  Then, I match donors’ goals with the institution to leave donors excited to continue giving.

These strong interpersonal skills are matched with abilities in quantitative finance, budgeting, and estate planning.  As a result, I can effectively answer questions, and earn the respect of donors and colleagues.

For examples of these skills in action, see my pages on Philanthropy  and Development, and my coaching site at www.developmentcoach.org
